George is a Senior Medicare Research Analyst for Burgess® with more than twenty years of experience in coding and reimbursement management. Additionally, he spent the past twelve years serving as an instructor for the Johns Hopkins University, where he teaches a multi-specialty coding and reimbursement curriculum. Previously, he was Managing Partner of a consulting firm specializing in professional coding and reimbursement issues. Prior to that, as an Assistant Director of Faculty Practice for an east coast practice plan, he was responsible for $250 million in receivables. While working as Director of Content Development for a nationally-recognized publisher of coding and reimbursement information, he personally authored six books directed toward specialty-specific coding and provided technical oversight for numerous texts and periodicals directed toward coding and reimbursement. George has been certified with the American Academy of Professional Coders since 1989 and he previously served as the National Vice Chairman for the Board of Advanced Medical Coders.
