Description

A Network Engineer is sought by Burgess Group, a dynamic, growing company developing and delivering premier solutions for leveraging Medicare and other public reimbursement information in the management of health care payments and associated data analytic services. The position will report to a Principle Medicare Reimbursement Analyst.

Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree and an appropriate certification with 3 years of wide ranging background and experience to serve on a small IT team providing support to approximately 50 users and developers in a newly built Wintel/Cisco environment. The selected candidate will have a broad background in networking, security, server administration, virtual computing and IP telephony. We are utilizing numerous cutting-edge technologies; the selected candidate will be able to be “pointed in the right direction” and then expected to figure out how accomplish a task or troubleshoot a problem. This is in addition to the usual mundane tasks: backup/recovery, network management, and local and remote user support on the standard suite of Microsoft applications. This is an ideal position for someone who is currently in an entry-level position with varied responsibilities looking for their next position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Some type of introductory certification such as the CCNA, MCDST, Security+, or CIWSA
  • Fundamental understanding of the OSI model
  • Firm grasp of and experience with modifying Active Directory, GPOs, Security/rights
  • Hands-on experience with Exchange, Cisco VLANs, drive imaging technologies
  • Production experience with server builds from bare metal, RAID levels and configurations
  • Able to perform one-on-one and small group training
  • Basic understanding of A/V systems, wireless, and general routing/switching
  • Ability to write effectively and concisely
  • Attention to detail
  • Professional experience with any of the following is a plus:
    • IIS
    • Packet analysis
    • Wireless security
    • Linux
    • IDS/IPS o IP telephony (specifically Cisco)
    • Microsoft DSM
    • EIM systems
    • Xenworks or VMWare
    • Microsoft Sharepoint
    • BES
    • Multi-factor authentication systems
    • Microsoft Dynamics
    • Microsoft SQL Server

Must be able to lift a fully-populated drive array (50 pounds) and insert it into a server rack.
