Data Analyst
We are seeking a data analyst to work with our Medicare Knowledge Integration and Product Development teams. The primary responsibilities of the data analyst position are to help interpret Medicare pricing formulas and maintain supporting data structures.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Extract, transform, and load new fee schedules and other data from government sources for integration with our database
• Analyze new and existing health care provider and pricing data to assist in deriving pricing formulas and algorithms
• Analyze government publications to assist in translating new pricing regulations and specifications into flow charts, formulas, and pricing examples
• Support product development by building SQL queries and assisting in the development of data structures that best facilitate accurate and performance-optimized pricing of Medicare claims
Qualifications:
• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field (four to six additional years of experience can be substituted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree) required
• One to three years of experience importing, exporting, and manipulating data in relational databases required
• One to three years of experience importing, exporting, and manipulating large datasets in Microsoft Excel required
• Ability to read and interpret technically dense government specifications and regulations required
• Ability to perform structured, detail-oriented, data-intensive tasks independently and accurately required
• Ability to effectively communicate technical information with analysts, software developers, and managers required
• Ability to work effectively in a team of professionals with diverse areas of expertise required
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005 or Oracle a plus
• Experience using ETL software, such as Data Transformation Services (DTS) for Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Warehouse Builder, etc. a plus
• Knowledge of Medicare claims pricing a plus
• Experience working in a software development environment a plus
