Burgess™ Announces Contract Renewal and Software Upgrade With CalOptima
ALEXANDRIA, Virginia—April 1, 2008—Burgess™ a leading Medicare-based decision support solutions firm announced today the signing of a three-year contract renewal with CalOptima, a client since June 2005.
CalOptima is an Orange County, California-based public agency created by the state of California’s Medicaid program, Medi-cal. CalOptima is one of five County Organized Health Systems (COHS) in the country and authorized by federal law to administer Medi-Cal benefits. Through the efficient use of available state and federal funds and assessing needs on a local community basis, CalOptima has the ability to provide its members a wider access to healthcare providers.
Under this renewed contract, CalOptima will continue to be a licensed user of the Burgess Reimbursement System (BRS)™, including additional software solutions that cover multi-year data for DRG and Home Health provider types as well as the ability to batch import claims with BRS™ BatchPricer. CalOptima has utilized BRS™ for fee schedule creation, Medicare Advantage claims, reimbursement, and provider relations. BRS is the only Medicare pricing and analysis software in the industry covering all major prospective payment systems. Burgess™ will also continue to provide ongoing technical support and Medicare payment policy education.
